Work Life Balance
From personal experience I can attest to the fact that managing a work life balance is extremely challenging. I have discovered that the higher one climbs up the corporate ladder, the more work there is to be done and much less time to complete it. Through my experience I have found that while maintaining a work life balance it is very important to pick your battles and always take one day at a time. Unfortunately along the way there will be times when you may have to sacrifice time away from your family. Working hard and staying dedicated to your job will usually buy you some time away from work to spend with your family. It is also important to have a strong support system at home to help keep you motivated through the difficult times. A supportive partner can also be helpful while pursuing your education. My husband is always very helpful in distracting our children while I'm hard at work studying. Overall, the best strategy for maintaining a balanced life is to always keep a positive attitude. Don't get me wrong, there are always those days when you just need to let it all out, but try not to make that a habit. A positive attitude will always get you so much further in life.

I don't think people sometimes realize how much your attitude affects your life. I believe that having a positive attitude is the key to staying motivated about achieving your goals. True, no one is happy every minute of every day, but when you have a positive attitude, it makes it alot easier to take on life's challenges and have the upper hand.

It is very challenging to have a life of juggling going on. I think you are correct when you say a support system is crucial and key to surviving those moments of I want to quit!! I am glad that you have that from your husband. I have met far too many husbands who just turn a blind eye to what their wives are going through.
ReplyDeleteTaking one day at a time is so important--not only with work, school, family, friends, church--but in prioritizing which takes precedence today. I also agree that we sometimes just have to pick our battles-what will I conquer today and what will I conquer tomorrow.
